Sydney u3a Regions – Local Government Areas and Postcodes

Sydney u3a regions are geographically based across the Greater Sydney area. Members can attend courses and events in any region, not just in the region where they live.

Bookings are essential for many courses: check the booking details for each course on the website and in the Course Book.

Region boundaries do not exactly follow the boundaries of Local Government Areas. To determine which Region applies to an address, check the postcode in the table below.

City & Inner West Local Government Areas:

  • Part of the City of Sydney Council Area:
    Sydney CBD and the suburbs immediately to the west of Sydney CBD.
  • Burwood, Canterbury-Bankstown, Inner West Council, and Strathfield Councils.
  • The part of the area of City of Parramatta Council with postcode 2127.

Postcodes:
2000, 2006 to 2009, 2037 to 2050, 2127, 2130 to 2140, 2190 to 2200, 2203, 2204, 2214
Eastern Local Government Areas:

  • Part of the City of Sydney Council Area: the suburbs immediately to the east of Sydney CBD.
  • Woollahra, Waverley, and Randwick Councils
  • The portion of Bayside Council east of Sydney Airport

Postcodes:
2000, 2010 to 2018 to 2036
Endeavour Local Government Areas:

  • Georges River and Sutherland Councils
  • The portion of Bayside Council west of Sydney Airport

Postcodes:
2205 to 2210, 2216 to 2234
Greater Western Local Government Areas:

  • Cumberland, City of Parramatta, Fairfield, Blacktown, and Penrith Councils
  • Note: the parts of the area of City of Parramatta Council with postcode 2127 are in the City & Inner West Region
