Wags March 11

Our walk on March 11 will be in and around Parramatta Park. The People’s Park is 160 years old and covers some 85 hectares. The Park Loop is only 3.2 kms but the park itself contains over 100 fascinating sites relating to aboriginal and colonial heritage, including natural areas, places of archaeological interest, buildings and monuments. It also has access to Wisteria Gardens in Cumberland Hospital. Access to Parramatta Park via car is available from 6am via the Macquarie St entrance. Free parking in marked bays is available.      Parramatta Park is a 10-minute walk from Parramatta Station or from Westmead Station.  Given we will meet at the George St.  Gatehouse, Parra Station makes more sense!

At this stage, my weather app tells me next Friday we will have a maximum temperature of 26 degrees, a mix of clouds and sun, with a 16% chance of precipitation. Winds SSE at 15-30 km/h so it should be reasonable weather for a walk if we meet by 9:15 a.m. (at the George St Gatehouse).
