Sydney U3A

Sydney University of the Third Age (Sydney U3A) offers hundreds of intellectually stimulating courses, across seven regions of metropolitan Sydney and across a wide spectrum including the arts, sciences, history, leisure, language, computing and fitness.

There are no prerequisites, no exams and no qualifications awarded.  If you are retired or semi-retired and enjoy learning and meeting like-minded people, all you need to do is become a member of the U3A family and participate in our activities. Members can attend any course, talk or event in any region provided there is space.  Bookings are essential unless specified in the course book.

Online courses

Despite the restrictions of COVID-19 you can still be engaged in activities via online technologies such as Zoom and email. Currently more than 120 sessions are available to members across several of our regions.  Click here to search for your postcode on the regions’ list.

To find courses, click on your region’s website.

COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) and Sydney U3A

In addition to the online programs, some regions are slowly commencing face-to-face activities. During the pandemic Sydney U3A is complying with governments’ restrictions on meetings and events

Normally a course book with details of all our courses, talks and events is posted to members twice a year. You may be interested to read the Semester 1, 2020 Course Book to see our usual offerings.

Due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of venues re-opening and limitations on numbers, we will not be printing a Semester 2, 2020 course book.
