Sydney University of the Third Age (Sydney U3A) offers hundreds of intellectually stimulating courses, across seven regions of metropolitan Sydney and across a wide spectrum including the arts, sciences, history, leisure, language, computing and fitness.
Because of NSW Government lockdown restrictions, all U3A face-to-face venues will be closed until further notice.
Please note that many of the courses are now available through Zoom.

There are no prerequisites, no exams and no qualifications awarded. If you are retired or semi-retired and enjoy learning and meeting like-minded people, all you need to do is become a member of the U3A family and participate in our activities. Members can attend any course, talk or event in any region provided there is space. To find courses in your area, click here to search for your postcode on the regions’ list. Bookings are essential unless specified in the course book.
Courses and presentations
Our face-to-face courses, talks, and events for 2021 have resumed. However, CoVid restrictions mean continuing changes to the programmes. Please check each region’s web page. You can still be engaged in activities via online technologies such as Zoom. Sessions are available to members across our regions.
- To find face-to-face presentations and courses, click or tap on the blue button labelled “Course Book” on the left or the bottom of this page.
- To find courses delivered online via Zoom, click or tap on the menu bar at the top of the page to see a summary of presentations and courses on offer across all regions. Click or tap on the link in the summary table to find further information about the course, or to book.
- Bookings are essential to secure your place in both face-to-face and online courses.
A course book with details of all our courses, talks and events is published twice a year and a link to the PDF on this website is emailed to members. Please note that you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader or similar on your computer to open, read or print the course book. Adobe Reader is also available as an app for your phone or tablets.
A small charge is added to the membership fee for members who wish a printed copy to be posted to them.
